Is it permissible to salute? Is it like bowing?
Answer
Saluting is a kuffaar style of respect. It is haraam to emulate the styles of the kuffaar. Greeting with their styles is not permissible. While saluting is not the equivalent of bowing, it is nevertheless not permissible.
