Is it permissible to use in soft drinks carbon dioxide obtained from a brewery? Is such carbon dioxide halaal?
Answer
All soft drinks are haraam in view of the alcohol content. Adding a substance acquired from a haraam brewery aggravates the prohibition. While the CO2 gas is halaal, it is not permissible to acquire it from a liquor brewery.
