Question
Is it correct that when Eid falls on a Friday, Jumuah Salaat is not compulsory? We were faced with this controversy this year.
Answer
According to the Hambali Math-hab if Eid falls on a Friday, then it will not remain Waajib/Fardh on those who had participated in the Eid Salaat and Khutbah to perform Jumuah Salaat. Zuhr will suffice. This is the position of the Hambali Math-hab only. Nevertheless, according to the Hambali Math-hab, Jumuah remains permissible and valid even if Eid happens to be on a Friday.
