Is Salaat valid behind a faasiq Imaam? He indulges in acts of bid'ah and trims his beard less than a fist length.
Answer
Salaat behind a faasiq is Makrooh, and it is haraam to appoint a bid'ati/ faasiq to be the Imaam. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "He who honours a man of bid'ah aids in the demolition of Islam."
