In Malaysia we have a custom of performing Salaatul Haajat with Jamaa't in the Musjid. Is this the Sunnah?
Answer
It is Sunnah to perform Salaatul Haajat alone and in privacy in one's home. The practice of conducting it in jamaa't in the Musjid is bid'ah and riya. One should not participate in such practices of riya and bid'ah.
