Question
Is it permissible for a Muslim to become a vegetarian?
Answer
If the person has a valid reason for being a vegetarian, it will be permissible. He does not sin in being a vegetarian for a valid reason, e.g. meat is harmful for him, or due to sickness the doctor advised him to abstain from meat. But if he believes it is wrong to eat meat, then he loses his Imaan.
