Question
Some people believe that after death the soul visits its earthly home. Is this an authentic belief of Islam?
Answer
This belief is baseless. The abode of the pure souls during the stage of Barzakh is a place called Illiyeen, and the abode of the evil souls is Sijjeen.
They do not visit the houses which were their homes on earth. (Barzakh is the life after death and before Qiyaamah.)
