Is it permissible for Muslim doctors and nurses to work in a hospital?
Answer
It is permissible to work as a doctor and as a nurse. However, a female nurse is not allowed to attend to males, and a male doctor has to attend to only male patients. But in an emergency it will be permissible to attend to the opposite sex, but not as a normal practice. Since this condition of the Shariah cannot be fulfilled at hospitals, employment there will not be permissible.
