Question
Because of the war there appears to be much panic among Muslims. How should Muslims prepare themselves besides spiritually? Should we stock up with essentials?
Answer
The panic is due to defective Imaan. When the focus is not on Allah Ta'ala, then the heart panics even when seeing shadows. Whatever happens and will happen will be the decree of Allah Ta'ala. Muslims should always at all times be in the state of preparedness, especially for Maut. The first step of preparedness is moral and spiritual reformation. Physical preparedness while also necessary, is of secondary importance. Stocking up essentials in anticipation of shortages is permissible. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had permitted such a measure.
