Will the unification of the Mujaahid groups serve the cause of Islam better?

No! There is really no change. Firstly it is a defective 'unification'. Not all groups have joined. Secondly, the unification will serve U.S. interests better. It is like the unification of the Afghan Jihaad groups brought about by the U.S. during the war against the Soviet Union. Thirdly, even after the unification there has been severe mutual fighting among the groups. Fourthly, true unification is possible only on the basis of the Qur'aan and Sunnah. Allah Ta'ala says: "Hold on firmly to the Rope of Allah and do not be disunited." Holding on to something else will never bring about the desired unity of the hearts. The "Rope of Allah" is the Qur'aan and the Sunnah, that is, the Shariah as is taught by the FOUR Math-habs.
