Question
I am a girl. My parents insist that I should go to university but I am refusing. They accuse me of disobedience to parents and mention about the punishment I will get for being disobedient. What am I supposed to do?
Answer
On the contrary, Allah Ta'ala will reward you abundantly for this 'disobedience' which is for the sake of His Obedience. Do not obey your parents in their haraam instruction. Their ignorance and their love for the dunya will ruin your Imaan if you obey them in this act of disobedience to Allah Ta'ala. Obedience to parents is not permissible in any of their haraam demands and instructions.
