Question
A new practice has developed in our community. When moving into a new house, a Yaseen khatam is organized. People are invited for a meal. Is this practice valid in the Shariah?
Answer
The khatam, etc., organized when moving into a new house is bid'ah. It has no basis in the Sunnah.
