In a circular captioned ‘DAY OF ARAFAH’ some forms of thikr are explained.

Question

In a circular captioned ‘DAY OF ARAFAH’ some forms of thikr are explained. I am concerned with point No.6 mentioned in the circular. It is mentioned: “Zuhr to Asr – Pray Zuhr & Asr on time. Sit in a quiet place if possible. Keep making dua continuously. This is the peak time of acceptance.” Is it Sunnah to follow this method? I know that in Arafaat all the time should be devoted to ibaadat. Does this extend to other places as well?

Answer

The athkaar, etc, mentioned in the article are all valid. However, the methodology outlined by the author has no Sunnah validity. Point No.6 is restricted to Arafaat. It is not extended to all places. There is no Sunnah incumbency to adopt the programme in the pamphlet. Self-fabricated methods which have no Sunnah basis generally culminate in Bid’ah. While the Day should be devoted to Ibaadat, the method of the Ibaadat is one’s own choice.
