There will be guards to ensure that the special facilities for ulama are protected and to prevent grate-crashing by laymen. In fact special identity cards are being issued to the ulama to ensure that no infiltration of laymen takes place.

Is the above arrangement consistent with the Sunnah? The arrangement is justified with the argument that it is necessary to make ikraam’ (honour the ulama). However, many of the ulama who will be accorded the special treatment freely intermingle with women. They appear on television and social media sites such as instagram, etc. They are involved in interfaith dialogue, videos, photos, etc. The public is confused with this special arrangement. Please advise and guide us to understand the Islamic logic underlying this special treatment for the ulama.
