Far, very far from this type of Thikr being Sunnah, it is bid’ah. There is absolutely no basis in the Sunnah for such forms of innovated Thikr. When a group of persons had engaged in a congregational Thikr of Lailaha ilallaah, Subhaanallah and Alhamdulillah in the Musjid, Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood (Radhiyallahu anhu) branded them bid’atis and had them physically expelled from the Musjid.

Bid’ah is an extremely cunning stratagem of Iblees to derail people from the Sunnah. He deflects them from the Sunnah with practices given the form of ‘ibaadat’. The Barelwi bid’ati/qabar pujaaris are fond of putting off the lights when they engage in their bid’ah forms of thikr. Understand well, that Ibaadat – pure Ibaadat – Ibaadat pleasing to Allah Ta’ala is the kind of Ibaadat which existed during Khairul Quroon. All forms of worship which were innovated after the first three Mubaarak eras of Islam are bid’ah.
