What is the status of the custom of shaking hands and embracing after Eid Salaat? A Maulana says that it is not permissible. What if people offer their hands for shaking? What should I do?
Answer
This custom is bid'ah. It is not permissible. Politely refuse and explain that this custom is bid'ah. If the person argues, maintain silence and move on. Do not submit to his bid'ah.
