The divorced woman of her own accord left home to pass the Iddat at the home of her parents.

Question

The divorced woman of her own accord left home to pass the Iddat at the home of her parents. Can she still demand maintenance?

Answer

If she had left of her own accord without valid reason, then she is not entitled for maintenance. It is Waajib to be in the marital home for the entire duration of the Iddat. Q.The husband became a murtad. However, the wife discovered this after a few months. What is the status of the marriage and of the child which was born after him becoming a murtad?

A. Although she was living in zina with him, she is not sinful because she was unaware of his irtidaad. If she was pregnant before the husband became murtad, the child will be legitimate. If her pregnancy developed after he became murtad, then the child is illegitimate.
