I am a Shaafi‟ female. My husband gave me Talaaq during my Tuhr (Clean) period. How long is my Iddat?
Answer
The Iddat commenced from the time the Talaaq was granted. According to the Shaafi Math-hab, the Iddat consists of three Tuhr periods. The first of the three is the one in which the Talaaq was issued.
