My deceased mother had not performed Salaat for many years. How should Kaffaarah be calculated and paid?
Answer
Since the deceased had not issued a directive to pay Kaffaarah for her omitted Salaat, it is not an obligation on her heirs to pay Kaffaarah. Nevertheless, they may give as Sadqah whatever amount they wish and supplicate to Allah Ta‟ala to forgive their mother. Sadqah and dua are the only options now.
