Question
In the 18th Raka‟t of Taraaweeh, the Imaam did not sit for Tashahhud. He went into the 3rd raka‟t. Although the muqtadis recited „Subhaanallah!‟ to alert him, the Imaam continued. He performed four raka‟ts and made Sajdah Sahw. Was he right?
Answer
There are different views pertaining to this issue. One authentic view is that the first two raka‟ts will not be regarded as Taraaweeh. The last two raka‟ts will be Taraaweeh. Therefore, the Qiraa‟t of the first two raka‟ts should be repeated.
