Is the practice of exchanging gifts decorated in expensive wrappings on Eid days Sunnat?
Answer
Making gifts on any day is permissible. But the custom of exchanging gifts specifically on Eid days is baseless and bid'ah. Muslims in this era are emulating the kuffaar right "into the lizard‟s hole." All decorations on Eid days are the artefacts of the kuffaar.
