Question
I gave a big sum of money to a poor person without the niyyat of Zakaat. I later realized that I should have made niyyat of Zakaat since I am liable to pay Zakaat. Will my later niyyat validate Zakaat discharge?
Answer
The niyyat will be valid and Zakaat will be discharged as long as the poor person has not used up the money.
