The Imaam of the Musjid is paid a fixed salary. When he goes on a collection drive, he is paid 15% commission on the amount he collects. Is this permissible?
Answer
The commission paid to the Imaam/teacher on the Lillah, Zakaat, etc. funds he collects is haraam. He is being paid a fixed monthly salary. The commission is haraam.
