A woman had deserted her husband. She lived alone elsewhere for 8 years. In all this time there was no contact with her husband. Now the husband has given her Talaaq. Is Iddat still necessary?
Answer
Regardless of 8 year separation, Iddat is still Waajib. The Iddat consists of three haidh cycles.
