Question
One heir wants to purchase the shares of the other heirs in a property. The other heirs are keen to sell to him. What value should be considered?
Answer
There is no value to act as the determinant or to be considered. The buyer and the sellers should agree on a price. It may be any price. However, if female heirs are involved or if a male heir has no proper understanding of the value of the property, then it is incumbent to apprize them of the current value of the property, and what their respective shares would be if the property is sold. Then they may make their own decision. They may sell at any value even if it is substantially less or more than current value.
