The Imaam of our Musjid is almost always late for Jamaat Salaat.

Question

The Imaam of our Musjid is almost always late for Jamaat Salaat. He comes late and the musallis have to wait for him to complete his Sunnat Salaat. Please comment.

Answer

The reason why the Imaam nowadays comes late to the Musjid is because he is a mercenary. He is paid for leading the Salaat - for ibaadat. He is not in the service of Allah Ta'ala, hence he shows scant regard for the Deen. We are living in an age in close proximity to Qiyaamah. Such mercenary attitudes must be expected. Things are going to get worse, not better. If the paid Imaam is habitually late, then at the appointed time for the Jamaat Salaat, another qualified musalli should step forward and lead the Salaat. The trustees should offer him naseehat.
