Our Imaam does not recite Thana. Immediately after Takbeer he begins the Qiraa‟t. Is the Salaat defective?
Answer
Yes, the Salaat is defective. It is not permissible to omit Thana. Those who omit Thana without valid reason are sinful. Thana in Salaat is Sunnah.
