In Cape Town there is a Musjid where Christian music was played on a day they called „Open Mosque‟. It was an interfaith function where they equated Christianity with Islam. What is the status of the Muslims who had organized this function?

You are mistaken regarding the organizers. They are not Muslims nor is the venue a Musjid. It is a kuffaar temple and the people who participated and organized are all kuffaar.
