Does an illegitimate child inherit in his father's estate? Does the father have visitation and guardianship rights?
Answer
An illegitimate child does not inherit in the estate of his/her biological father. He/she inherits in his/her mother's estate. The biological father has no legal rights over the child according to the Shariah. He has no right of access, visitations and guardianship.
