Is it permissible to hire a vehicle to a Muslim whose income is haraam?

The following question was posed to Hadhrat Thanvi:

"We hire out pots (utensils and the like for functions). There is a woman who is a professional singer. She sings at wedding functions. Will it be permissible to hire the pots to her?" Hadhrat Thanvi responded: "Since the greater part of her income is haraam, it is not permissible to hire the pots to her." Thus, it is not permissible to hire a vehicle to a person whose income is haraam.
