Question
After performing Salaat at home, I had to go to a Musjid. On arriving at the Musjid, the Jamaat Salaat was about to begin. What was I supposed to have done?
Answer
If it was Zuhr or Isha', then you could have joined the Jamaat with the intention of Nafl. If it was Fajr, Asr, or Maghrib, then you had to abstain. Even with the niyyat of Nafl, you may not join the Jamaat.
