Question
I have the habit of fantasizing. When drinking juice I fantasize that I am drinking wine. When having relations with my wife I fantasize that I am having relations with another woman whom I have seen. Is such fantasizing sinful?
Answer
Most certainly it is a major sin. The intention makes it sinful. The niyyat is the determinant. If a person by mistake consumes wine, he will not be sinful.
