The musallis of a Musjid are both Hanafis and Shaafis.

Question

The musallis of a Musjid are both Hanafis and Shaafis. How should the Asr time be arranged?

Answer

The Musjid will be in the control of either Hanafis or Shaafis. If it is in the control of Hanafis, then a separate Jamaat for Asr for Shaafis will not be permissible in the Musjid because the Hanafi Asr time is valid for even Shaafis.

On the other hand, if the Musjid is under Shaafi control, and if they refuse to have the Asr Jamaat in a time which is valid for both Mathhabs, then in this case, Hanafis should perform their separate Jamaat in the same Musjid.
