1 My boys in a Darul Uloom were told by the principal: "This is my Madrasah. You have to follow my rules". Now the same statement was made by the principal to the Asaatizah, ―that this madrasah is mine and you have to follow my rules‖. We all know that the madrasah is running by the donations of many people from around the world. We understand the students have to follow the rules of the madrasah but to say it's ―my madrasah‖, is it correct?
Answer
We understand that the Madrasah was started by the Principal. If this is correct, then it is proper to say „my madrasah‟ regardless of outside donations. The Madrasah does not belong to the donors. People donate to get thawaab in the Aakhirah, not to own or administrate the Madrasah. Therefore it is correct that the Madrasah belongs to the one who had initiated it and who still controls it. He does not mean that he owns the buildings.
