Question

According to my knowledge, it is not permissible to make a profit from something someone does not own. As such, while it may be permissible to sublet a residential property, it is not permissible to charge rent at a higher price than the actual rent payable to the landlord. Concerning this Mas'alah, I have some questions: 1) Is it correct for me to understand that for someone to operate a business which provides accommodation for travellers, that would basically only be possible in an owned property and not from commercial rented premises? 2) Would the above business become permissible where it provides some other services in addition to basic accommodation (e.g. meals preparation/ cooking, cleaning services, …) and the profit considered as payment for these services? 3) If no additional services are provided but the person operating the business own some of the furniture (e.g. fridge, washing machine, stove, oven, cupboard, beds, bed linen, etc.), would it be permissible to make a profit and consider this as rental payment for the furniture?
