Question
What is the Islamic perspective of eclipses of the moon and sun?
Answer
A lunar or a solar eclipse is a natural phenomenon created by Allah Ta'ala just as the phenomenon of the phases and changes of the moon and of sun rise and sunset. It is a creation of Allah Ta'ala. When an eclipse occurs, two raka'ts Salaat should be performed.
