Question
In Ruku‟ a person remembers that he did not recite a Surah after Surah Faatihah. Should he return to the Qiyaam position and recite the Surah?
Answer
He must not return to Qiyaam from Ruku to recite a Surah. He has to make Sajdah Sahw. Ruku‟ is Fardh while the Surah is Waajib. The Musalli should not abandon the Fardh act for the Waajib act. Sajdah Sahw compensates for the omission of Waajib.
