Question
In Surah Hajj there are two Sajdah Tilaawat aayats. The second one is only for Shaafis. What is the position if a Hanafi makes the second Sajdah in Salaat intentionally or mistakenly?
Answer
The Sajdah Tilaawat at the end of Surah Hajj is not valid for Hanafis. It is not permissible for Hanafis to make Sajdah Tilaawat in Salaat when reciting the Aayat of Sajdah for Shaafis. If Sajdah is made mistakenly at this Aayat, then Sajdah Sahw becomes Waajib. If the Sajdah is made intentionally to appease Shaafis, then the entire Salaat has to be repeated.
