What is the ruling on a mufti who threatens this staff member by saying that if you don't do additional work like extra khidmat (outside working hours) you can leave our school. Also how should the, money be paid?
Answer
The mufti who threatens his staff as you have explained is a zaalim (oppressor/tyrant). It is haraam for him to issue such threats and to oppress the workers. If workers work overtime, they have to be paid for their overtime. The pay for overtime has to be mutually arranged. Time off should also be mutually and amicably arranged.
