My in-laws hardly perform Salaat.

Question

My in-laws hardly perform Salaat. My father-in-law does not attend even Jumuah Salaat. He invites us to his home for meals. What should we do? Can I invite them to our home?

Answer

It is not permissible to eat the food or visit such in-laws who grossly neglect Salaat. Their house and food are accursed. Such food has an evil effect on the heart. Your fatherin-law's Imaan is dangling on an extremely thin thread. He is perched on the precipice of Imaani destruction. When refusing his invitation, inform him politely of the truth. Don't beat about the bush. Discharge your Waajib obligation of offering him the Naseehat of the Haqq. Do not invite such in-laws to your home.
