One and a half years ago a company that hired us sent us computer equipment for training and for a job. One computer and two large monitors. We have tried over 5 times to reach them and see how we can return this equipment with no response. They have directed us to different departments who said just email and wait for a response but no response came. They sit there packed same way they came. Would it be permissible to use them or what would be permissible in this case?
Answer
Write a final letter to the company informing them that if they do not collect their equipment, you will dispose of it. If they do not respond, then sell the equipment and give the money to the poor. You may also purchase it for a fair value.
