Question
The Majlis has informed me that it is not permissible to allow a non-Muslim woman to view the face of her deceased daughter who was a Muslim. I tried explaining this to another Muslim sister, but she refuses to accept. What can I say further to her?
Answer
When someone argues or refuses to accept, then maintain silence. Don't waste time trying to convince a person whose ideas are effects of a kufr attitude. There are thousands of masaa-il in the Shariah for which we do not know the reasons.
Anyhow, for your information, even a Muslim woman in the state of haidh or napaak is not permitted to be close to the mayyit. The Angels of Mercy flee from napaak persons. In addition to a kaafir woman being perpetually napaak, her impurity is aggravated by the najaasat of her kufr. As such she is Mabghoodh by Allah Ta'ala that is: Allah's Wrath is on her. The mayyit requires Allah's Rahmat. A napaak, mabghoodh woman in close proximity is in fact a kind of athaab for the mayyit.
