Question
A brother is not on speaking terms with his brother. He is perpetuating a feud which occurred several years ago over a triviality. Although the one brother tries to restore good ties, the other brother refuses. What advice is there for him?
Answer
Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) has the following advice and warning for him: "He who does not speak to his brother for a year, will meet Allah with the sin of Qaabil. Nothing but the flames of the Fire will purify him."
Qaabil had murdered his brother, Haabeel. This was the first murder committed on earth.
