Question
I have been given a Mudd container on which the sanad is engraved. The names of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and of Sahaabah, etc. are engraved on the container. Is it proper to use this container for wudhu?
Answer
We are living in an era in which the Deen is being commercialized. The Deen is used for making money. While the Mudd container may be kept as an ornament, it may not be used for wudhu, etc. They have erred by engraving the name of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and of the other Sahaabah / Fuqaha on the container. The holy names will be disrespected if the container is used for wudhu and the like.
