Some Ulama have initiated a new practice of making khatam of the Qur'aan Shareef. Over the radio they allocate portions of the Qur'aan (e.g. one or two Juz) to different people. Is this a valid method?
Answer
The practice of allocating portions of the Qur'aan over the radio to people to make khatam is a mockery of the Qur'aan Majeed. It is accompanied by riya. It is not permissible. It is a new nafsaani bid'ah.
