Question
In our time, many psychologists, coaches and various self-development trainers – including some who wear hijab – have emerged. They often combine Western psychological concepts with Islamic terminology and present these ideas to Muslim women. This includes topics such as islaah, akhlaaq, family relationships and personal development. I am concerned that this approach may mislead Muslim women by mixing the truth with concepts that have no basis in the Shari'ah. How should we advise our Muslim sisters to be cautious and avoid relying on such sources without sound Islamic knowledge?
Answer
These pontiffs are quacks and frauds. It is not permissible to submit to their treatment which damages and even ruins Imaan. Shaitaan adorns their methods with some 'deeni' hues to befuddle and mislead ignorant Muslims. Muslims should not visit these quacks for any kind of assistance. All emotional problems should be treated with Thikrullah. The focus should be on Allah Ta'ala. These quacks only compound the problems.
