I went to a non-Muslim hairdresser who applied shampoo, etc.

Question

I went to a non-Muslim hairdresser who applied shampoo, etc. to my hair. I suspected that the substances she applied contained alcohol. I washed my hair. Was that sufficient?

Answer

Worse than the shampoo, etc. is the act of allowing a kaafirah woman to see and handle the hair of a Muslim woman. The alcohol shampoo compounds the sin. The hair should be thoroughly washed, and Taubah Salaat be performed. It is haraam for a Muslim woman to expose her hair and arms to a non-Muslim woman.
