Question
My parents are faasiq. They have television in their home. There is no purdah being observed. How should I, a married adult, please them? If I visit with my wife and children, they will be exposed to the haraam taking place.
Answer
Please your parents in all things which are permissible. If the environment is haraam, e.g. ghair mahrams are present, or the television is on, then for that duration stay away. Keep them happy, but do not participate in any of their haraam actions. At the same time it is incumbent for you to offer Deeni advice even if they rebuff it.
