Question
Bakr owes Zaid a large sum which he pays in monthly instalments as per agreement with Zaid. Zaid has now died. What is the position of the debt? What of the debtor dies? Can the heirs continue paying in instalments?
Answer
Bakr has to pay to the heirs of Zaid in accordance with the instalment arrangement. If the debtor dies, the heirs must pay the entire outstanding debt immediately from the estate of Bakr.
