What is the meaning of Istikhfaaf and Istighfaar?

Istikh-faaf means to regard any aspect of the Deen with insignificance – not to assign importance to it. Such an attitude is close to kufr.

Istigh-faar means to seek forgiveness from Allah Ta'ala.
